A Little About Me
I have a strong background in education, science, leadership, training, and professional development. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Science, which gave me a strong foundation in math and science, and I am excited to bring that background into our classroom. I am especially excited to teach fifth-grade math and science because I love helping students ask questions, solve problems, think critically, and understand how what they are learning connects to the real world.
Did You Know?
I am also a children’s book author! I wrote a children’s book called Where Did Mommy Go? Writing children’s books is one of the ways I enjoy encouraging children and families, and I love being creative!
When I’m Not Teaching…
When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy: singing, reading books, scrapbooking, shopping, spending time with my family, spending time with friends and writing!
What I Love About Math & Science
I want our classroom to be a place where students understand that learning isn’t just about getting the right answer—it’s about learning how to think. In math, we’ll solve problems, explain our reasoning, look for patterns, and learn that mistakes are part of the process. In science, we’ll ask questions, investigate, experiment, make observations, analyze evidence, and connect science to the world around us. My goal is for students to leave our classroom thinking:
“I can figure this out!”
What You Can Expect From Me
Your child can expect me to:
Treat them with respect.
Encourage them to do their best.
Have high expectations while providing support.
Celebrate growth and effort.
Create a safe and respectful learning environment.
Help them learn from mistakes.
Encourage curiosity and questions.
Challenge them to think deeply.
Communicate with families when needed.
Care about their success—not just academically, but as a person.
What I Ask From My Students
I will ask students to come to class:
Ready. Respectful. Responsible. Safe.
We will work together to create a classroom where everyone can learn, ask questions, make mistakes, and grow.
Families Are Part of Our Team!
I believe that students are most successful when teachers, families, and students work together.
I look forward to getting to know your family, supporting your child, and making this a wonderful year of learning and growth.
Here’s to an amazing year in Fifth Grade Math & Science!
I’m so happy to be here!
