Desription: For this project, we were told to make a machine that would dispense candy from a wooden box. In our design, we have to use a tool that would spin so the candy could be distributed- so we used a Micro bit and Servo.
Brain storm: We immediately knew that we wanted to use laser cutting because it takes much less time to print out. We built our design in TinkerCad and then cut it. We made many rough drafts in TinkerCad before we cut our final idea.
Procedure: First, we started creating our design for the candy dispenser. Then, we cut some of our first pieces. After correcting some of our mistakes on the build, we recut and started assembling. On our 4th day, we started by realizing that one of our main pieces was too long and we had to redesign it. We kept recutting and reassembling until our final product was done.
WISCR Reflection: We all helped out for different things and we all planned out how to solve our problems together.
Strength: We all took off on our own and used our strengths to get things done quickly
Opportunity: We could have used our time a bit more wisely so we didn't have as much to do on the last day
Understand: I learned that laser cutting is different than 3D printing and has more advantages
Limitation: The time slot felt a bit tight for the entire project and because we used laser cutting, designing took a bit longer than what we're used to.
