#2-Brainstorming: My group and I were inspired by the outstanding engineering feet of the infamous Eiffel Tower. We thought constructing and modeling our structures base similar to one of the Eiffel Towers would be efficent and steady due to less straws being used and conserved+having a flat and elevated base. We used plastic straws and painters tape as well us multiple photos of the tower to help us construct our final project.
#3-Procedures:
We discussed our plan to recreate a base similar to the Eiffel Tower's using all of our inputs and ideas to create the perfect base.
We started then both researching photos and designs as well as constructing our tower.
We as a whole team started on our final base starter for our structure and got to work stacking, taping, and connecting our plastic straws to one another to create a strong support for the main part of our creation.
As we started building higher and higher, we realized that we had forgotten to balance our structure and this is what ultimately led to the downfall of our tower however, we were still able to maintain the tower 2 feet above the ground while still being moderately stable so we were still able to make a modest comeback and success.
We finished the project and documented it using photos and sketches to our advantage. Though we came in last place for this specific project, we were all still able to agree that this was a prime learning example for our next project and learnt with ease how we can improve in the future.
#4-Reflection-SOUL & WISCR:
S-Strength of your work: In my opinion, I'd say my groups project embodied low to moderate strength.
O-Opputunities to improve your project: Tower Project, Engineering Project, City planning or bridge projects,....
U-Understanding-what you learned through this project: I learnt that you must take in to account every factor while creating a project like this one and not everything is as easy as it seems to be.
L-Limitations you encountered in this project: I encountered limitations such as: Shortage of recources, short amount of time for building/creating, and not enough time for proper researching.
WISCR-Insightful and critical thinking as well as respecting each and other (Respectful Indviduals)
