Soap Project

Project Description - For this project, we created a soap for an important person in our lives that we wanted to express our love and appreciation for using Fusion 360 to make a design that we could print out and make a mold of to make the soap.

Brainstorming - we started off creating a sketch of our plan for the soap so we could figure out how we wanted our design to look like. I decided to make it for my mom, so i chose to make a design that included watercolor, as that is something my mom likes doing. We also had to make a tagline to put on the project, and mine was "Art & Love Make Life More Colorful" to show my love for my mom and her love of art. This is a picture of my sketch, but it turned out very different from how it actually looks now: 

Procedure - After creating the sketch, I then created it in fusion 360. To make it I used the different tools in it including holes, spline, and text to create the different parts of my design. this is how it turned out in the end:

Print - After finishing our design, I then printed it out on the 3D printer so that I could make a mold of it. This was my first and final version as I decided I didn't need to reprint it. This is how it turned out:

Mold - Finally, we made a mold. We used silicone mold and spread it acroos our print to make the mold that we would need to pour to soap in. After that we had to dry it before we could take the mold off our print. This is what the mold looks like:

Soap - Finally, we made soap using the mold. We poured melted soap into our mold after adding a scent, which for mine was lavender, and then we added drops of food coloring into it. I added a drop of blue and yellow to it to make a green swirl. After a few days, we took it out. This is how my final product came out:

S - The strength of my work was my design as I think that it came out well for the design that I made.

O - The opportunities that I had to make my project better was all the time I had to improve my project.

U - What I understood and learned from the project was how to better use Fusion 360 to make our designs and to print on the printers.

L - The limitations that I had in the project were I needed to better manage my time.

WISCR - I think that for this project the letters that most represents my work was I-Insightful and critical thinker, and S-Self-motivated. The reasons for this is that I had to think of ways to make my project well done and because I was motivated to get it done to give to my mom.
