Description: Design and create a pair of animals utilzing recycled bottle corks. Students design on TinkerCAD and Prototype using the 3D printers. The design process consists of brainstorming, researching, CADing, 3D printing, and repeating until students are happy with their final products.
Brainstorm(my story): There once was a hare and a tortoise who raced and the tortoise won. The hare was banished from the animal kingdom and eventually when the hare had a little bunny, the bunny decided to redeem herself and her mom. The little bunny walked all the way back to the animal kingdom and declared she wanted to race with the ancient tortoise. The ancient tortoise had become obnoxious and arrogant, for he had taken the power of beating a hare to his head. When the ancient tortoise heard that the hare's little bunny wanted to race, the tortoise happily agreed, for it thought that both rabbits would obviously make the same mistake. So, when it lost to the little bunny, the tortoise learned that if you let power go to your head, eventually you will be humbled.
Procedure
Pick out the corks and measure their diameters
CAD the enclosed rings and test print them to see if the ring fits the cork
S: I was very productive and finished pretty quickly
O: I think my designs could have been more detailed
U: I understand how to 3D print now and how to use FLASHPRINT
L: If we had more time, my animals could have been more detailed and well planned.
WISCR: I think I was very self motivated. While the rest of the class was goofing around, I finished my project.
