SOUL Reflections
S I think our project worked out pretty well. We were not the tallest structure but I think with more time, we could definitely could have built a much taller tower. We had a really strong base.
O If we had more time, I think our tower could have been better. I also think with more materials, like scissors, we could have enhanced our project. If I could do it again I would secure the straws better instead of wasting tape on useless stuff.
U I learned how to collaborate with others better under pressure. I found it is easier to split the work for the first 10 minutes then start working together after once the parts are assembled.
L If we had more time and materials, our project could have been better.
WISCR I think I started collaborating better and understanding that my idea is not always the best idea. I think communication was the WISCR we did best.
Description: The project goal was to build the tallest structure out of simple materials such as 2 feet of tape and straws.
Brainstorm: My group did not really brainstorm ideas. In the first 10 minutes we tried out different solutions and found the one that worked best was a rectangular pyramid shape.
Procedure: We got to work in groups and had 25 minutes to complete it. I would say it was the process was pretty challenging but fun. My group got to work together and try out different ideas in the 25 minutes. The last 10 minutes were pretty hectic as we tried to figure out how to make our structure stand up straighter. As you can see in the photo, we had to measure the structure and ballance out the base.
As you can see in the picture, we built a base our of straws in a rectangular pyramid shape. We than used straws to slowly extend the height.
