Description: For our second DE8 project, I did the group illuminating 3D structure with Rebbeca. Using Fusion360 and Adobe Illustrator, we had to CAD and laser cut an intricate wooden lantern that can hung by a hook. The requirements were that the structure had to have a volume less than 250in3, it could be any shape, and it had to allow light to illuminate.
Brainstorm: Ms. Tran let us sketch/brainstorm our shape and what theme we wanted to have with our lantern. We decided on a sports themed design, including basketball,soccer, tennis, baseball, and football.

Reflection - SOUL:
S (Strength of your Work) - I would say our biggest strength was our creative designs since our shape and theme was very different from the other lanterns.
O (Opportunities to improve your project) - Rebbeca and I could've been more precise, clean, and defined with our details especially when engraving and cutting features of each design.
U (Understanding) - I have learned that it takes a lot of work to create these sides! The laser-cutting process is not easy when trying to use it for the first time so I had to really get used to using programs like Adobe Illustrator.
L (Limitations you encountered in this project) - I feel that if we had more time we could've done a better overall job as well as just finishing earlier. Since everyone in the lantern group was trying to laser-cut at the same time, everyones project took a while to form. However, we made do of what time we had.
WISCR :
Self-motivated individuals - We put a lot of effort into this project. We did not have much time to complete this but we were able to achieve each design for the sides we wanted. Even though we faced minor challenges along the way, we tried to make this project the best we could. We were also very motivated to finish.
Clear communicators - During this project, we displayed Clear Communication and were clear communicators with each other. We designated different roles and parts of the project to ourselves so that we could be as productive as possible. Every class, we tried to contribute and collaborate as much we could.
