Description: Design and create a pair of animals figurines utilizing recycled bottle corks. Design on TinkerCAD and prototype using the 3D printers. The design process consists of brainstorming, researching, CADding, 3D printing, and repeating until happy with final product.
Brainstorm: We had to think about ideas for our cork pals that would be easy to create, but also challenging enough to think about it.
My story: There once was a elephant. This elephant was named Bob. Bob had been bullied from a very young age because of his freakishly long body. Because of this, Bob decided to run away to a place where he was more welcomed. On his journey, he met a cat. This cat was named Garry. Similarly, Garry had also been bullied during his childhood because of his abnormally long torso, and had decided to escape from the toxicity of his neighborhood. The longer the two talked, the more they discovered they had in common. Consequently, they developed an unusual friendship, bonding over their shared experiences, and so became the eternal friendship between cat and elephant.
Procedure:
Pick out the corks and measure their diameters
CAD the enclosed rings and test print them to see if the corks fit the rings.

This is the final printing product, a very long elephant.

Reflection:
S: Strengths of my work were that I made the animals look similar to what they were supposed to and was generally concise in creating them,
O: I probably could've made the elephant the same color on both ends so it could've matched better.
U: I learned how to use this measuring tool and how to create an elephant in Tinkercad.
L: A limitation I encountered was that the ring did not fit the cork, but I fixed the problem by finding a different cork that fit.
WISCR- Two letters I think apply to this project are the "I" and the "S" because you have to be a critical thinker to brainstorm ideas and properly measure the corks, and you need to be self-motivated to continue prototyping the rings and animals so they fit on the cork.
