Pine Eagle school buildings are between 45 and 80 years old. The Elementary School is the oldest, with the main building built in 1962 and the west wing in the 1940s. The High School was built in 1968 and the Vo-Ag building in approximately 1978. While the facilities have newer roofs and are well maintained, operating systems have aged, and standards have changed over the past half century.
The District budgets annually to keep its facilities functioning properly and in good repair. It also vigorously pursues grants to supplement its budget. Over the years, Pine Eagle School District has been successful in obtaining funding for seismic upgrades, a barn for the Career & Technical Education (CTE) program, a sprinkler system for the land lab and many other projects. However, the scope of the proposed bond projects are beyond what the District can handle through grants and its annual maintenance budget.
The proposed bond, if it passes, would provide funds to repair and update the schools systems, and secure the High School entry for Safety and ADA accessibility.
