How to contact your school counselor:
Typical reasons students ask to see the counselor is to discuss their grades and schedule, to get help solving a conflict, or to talk about stress and learn how to deal with overwhelming feelings.
Students can fill out the paper counselor request form located outside the counselors offices, or submit the Google form below. QR codes are located around the building to submit the electronic form.
What do school counselors do?
School Counselors work with students, teachers, parents, and the community to help our students find success! School counselors support students with their academic, social, emotional, and college and career goals. We are here to advocate for students and make sure your needs are met so you can focus on what matters: learning and growing.
School Counseling Vision Statement:
The students at Pinecrest Sloan Canyon possess the academic skills to be lifelong learners, the social-emotional skills to maintain positive, healthy habits and relationships, and are excited about applying their knowledge and skills in careers that contribute to their community. Student needs are addressed through a curriculum that fosters self-awareness, personal growth, responsibility, mindfulness, and appreciation of diversity. The Counseling Team supports the achievement of every student and builds collaborative relationships with parents, staff, families, and community members to support the foundations of student success. Sloan Canyon students are prepared to make a positive difference in our world.
School Counseling Mission Statement:
The mission of the Counseling Team is to provide a proactive, comprehensive, and developmentally appropriate program to address students' academic and career goals in addition to supporting their personal and social needs. This is accomplished through a partnership with parents, guardians, staff, and community members to enable all students to become successful learners now and in the future.
