ACADEMIC PLANNING
Academic planning involves many skills for students including setting educational goals. Setting goals provides a focus and helps a student achieve their highest potential. An academic plan keeps you on track and helps ensure you are taking the right courses each semester. School counselors meet with every student every year to review your academic goals and course plans.
22-23 MIDDLE SCHOOL THREE-YEAR PLAN
Requesting courses for next year
You Should Know:
Core Classes (English, Math, Science, and Social Studies) are required every year. Each grade also has a required elective.
Some courses have pre-requisites or require an audition or recommendation from a teacher. Check the catalog and talk with your teachers or your counselor if you have any questions about course requirements.
Some classes can be repeated for credit, and many can not. Check the catalog if you are interested in re-taking an elective.
Requesting a class doesn't guarantee that it will be on your schedule next year. We will do our best to place you in the classes you want, but class size, pre-requisites, and credit deficiencies may place you in a different class. Make sure to pick alternate electives!
Choose your classes carefully. Once you are scheduled for a class, you are expected to stay in that class. Schedule changes are not approved mid-year.
