What is Concert Band?
This yearlong class offers the traditional music education band experience at the intermediate level. The instruments taught are woodwinds, brass, and percussion. This level is for students that have completed at least one full year of instrument music instruction. Audition and approval are needed to be accepted into the concert band. Musical topics are continued to be developed through rehearsal and performance. This ensemble will perform 3-4 concerts throughout the school year including travel opportunities to perform as well. Each student will be responsible for renting and maintaining an instrument for this class. Instrument rentals must be secured by the first day of school. Instruments must meet quality standards set by the Band Director.
Each student will need the following for the Concert Band Class daily.
Make it Happen method book (Instrument Specific)
- Available at local music store locations or online.
Instrument in working condition with additional supplies (oil, grease, reeds, etc.).
Music binder (1"-1.5" Black 3 ring binder)
