Final Project

Mask holder

This mask holder is an invention for people with glasses. It slides onto the glass via the back of the earpiece Then you simply slide it up to the hinge of the glasses where it can rest comfortably while you wear a mask. We came up with this idea by seeing people trying to hold up their masks while wearing glasses.

How it helps: This 3D printed chain-like design helps people with glasses. We have heard from teachers and friends that it can be a hassle to push up their masks when they are wearing glasses. With this holder, the mask stays up on its own.

Some other benefits:

  • Thanks to the position of the chain, it makes the glasses much harder to fog up.

  • Because the connector holds the mask up itself, the mask is much more comfortable because you don't have to worry about the loops because tight around your ears.

Impact:

Our project can create a big impact on the vision and focus of people with glasses. During this pandemic when things are hard enough, fogged up, uncomfortable glasses are the last thing that people need. Having your glasses constantly fog up makes things harder to see and harder to focus in almost any environment. So, with the chain connector that we created, both problems are fixed as well as comfortability! Masks can become uncomfortable to wear after a certain amount of time. They start to hurt behind your ears, and become itchy. Overall, it's a headache you don't want. Since the connector comes with multiple chain loops, the extras that are not needed can be used to connect the two ear loops on the mask behind your neck, making it much more comfortable!
