You won't have your phone throughout the week when campers are on property but you WILL be able to receive mail SO, feel free to post your cute solo shots on social media asking for mail & treats from all your friends & family.
Here is the mailing address for camp:
First "Camp Name" Last
Pine Cove Ranch
15791 CR 1113
Tyler, TX 75703
Pro tip: new staff, you might wanna wait till you get your camp name :-)
If you haven’t already been added, please request to be added to our Ranch 2026 GroupMe. This is the most important platform of communication & connection as a summer staff team. Don't put it on mute! And always, feel free to reach out by text or calling any of our full time directors!
Hooray - you get 24 hours off each week from 1ish on Saturday to 1ish on Sunday! You can do laundry, hang with family/ friends, and explore the great city of Tyler.
If you have a commitment outside of those 24 hours off: just like any other job, you have to ask for specific days off from your boss & get it approved in order to leave.
As a general rule of thumb: very few events qualify for time off outside of the weekend. We're only here for 6-12 weeks, so we want to make the most out of it and stay present!
In addition to 24 hours off on the weekends, there are about 2 specific nights off that you'll receive throughout your time at camp but we will explain those in more detail during Orientation week.
If you have any questions about this, reach out to a member of the Full Time Team!
Training week is dedicated to getting you specific training or certification for a specialty role at camp. This week entails a lot of hands-on learning, can be physically tiring but is also SO FUN at the same time. If you're getting trained as a lifeguard, prepare your heart to jump in the pool & complete a swim test right when you get to camp on the first day of training week. You'll have time to change into your swimsuit beforehand but we waste no time in getting you in the pool!
Orientation week is where we cast vision, set expectations and teach you the culture of being a Pine Cove staffer. It's more informational and less physically taxing than training week. There's lots to cover before camper's arrive so be sure to lock in & be attentive during the sessions that we'll cover that week.
NAME GAMMEEEE! This is a HUGE part of our culture at Pine Cove. Every single staffer recieves a silly name that they go by throughout their time at camp. It's one of the most fun & silly parts of training and orientation week so GET EXCITED!
We'll also dedicate time in the evenings to worship, learn from God's word and connect with Him throughout these two weeks.
Good hangs with your new best friends!! At camp, we work HARD and play HARD so we will also definitely be engaging in some serious fun during training and orientation.
The easiest way to travel by plane is to get a connecting flight to DFW & then to Tyler Regional Pounds airport & we can send a staffer to pick you up from there. If a flight to Tyler isn't feasible, there will be a lot of staffers driving to Tyler from Dallas (about a 2 hour drive) & you can send a message in the GroupMe to ask to hop in someone's car with them. Please reach out if you need help with travel arrangements. We're happy to help!
