Recommended Skills by Grade Level

K: recognizing letters and numbers on the keyboard, learning to drag and drop
1st: proper posture: two hands on keyboard, left side / right side without a focus on proper keys, two fingers for drag and drop
2nd: proper posture, two hands on keyboard, two fingers for drag and drop, starting to learn positions of home row keys
3rd: formal keyboarding, correct home row placement, 15-20 WPM at least 90% accuracy
4th: formal keyboarding, correct home row placement, 25-30 WPM at least 90% accuracy
5th: formal keyboarding, correct home row placement, 30-35 WPM at least 95% accuracy
