Instructions

In this assignment you will learn how to change the Hue & Saturation of only one layer.

I can change the Hue and Saturation of a specific selection/object

Resource images

Instructional Steps

Set up

Document size 8.5 x 11, 300 PPI
Create a diagonal linear gradient of Blue & Pink

Adjustment Layer

use ALT to control the layer adjustment. The layer adjustment should only affect the layer underneath it. The Hue/Saturation layer adjustment should now have an arrow pointing down
Lower the Saturation level all the way down

Blending Mode / Scale

Change the blending mode of the wasp to "Multiply"
Transform the scale of the wasp to make it as large as you can without going outside the artboard.

Place Embed rose / Remove background/ Duplicate rose

Insert the image of the Rose
Remove the background of the rose
Duplicate the layer of the rose

Change Hue

Change the bottom rose to blue
Change the top rose to pink
Isolate the Hue/Saturation levels by holding down "ATL" (or use a clipping mask)

Add Text

Add your name and school year onto the document using the type tool

5 pts Set up: Student created a document that is 8.5 x 11 inches

5 pts Gradient: Student created a linear diagonal gradient that goes from blue to pink

5 pts Blending Mode: Student used the "Multiply" blending mode on the wasp

10 pts Isolating Hue/Saturation Layer Adjustment: Student was able to change 1 rose to blue, and the other rose to pink.

5 pts Text: student added their name onto the document using the type tool

5 pts Submit/Time: Student submitted a .JPG image of their work, and submitted on time.
