Social Studies Syllabus
Hello Family!!
1) What topics are included in our studies?
Introduction to Social Studies, Native Americans, Colonization, American Revolutionary War through the Civil War.
2) Grading Percentages - 50% Tests, Projects, Writing Assignments, 20% Quizzes, 20% Classwork, 10% Hwk
-Homework is assigned the first day of the week and due by Thursday each week.
-Five bonus points will be awarded if handed in a day early.
-Quizzes are given on Fridays and will be based on the material for that week.
*Students will be notified of a test or project at least a week ahead of time.
3) Please check Schooltool to monitor your child’s progress.
My availability is period 2 possibly, period 3 study hall, period 7 lunch

Classroom Rules
1) Arrive for class before the bell.
2) Be prepared and work hard. Make up work that is missed.
Take care of property in the classroom.
3) Speak with kindness and consideration.
4) Wait your turn to speak. Keep your partner on track.
5) Stay organized and offer to help.
6) Keep the room clean.
7) Think first, then speak AND/OR do.
8) Avoid distracting yourself or others.
Consequences for Behavior and School Work:
1) For Behavior
a) Two Verbal Reminders; Talk in the Hallway, b) Seat Change, c) Lunch Detention
d) Phone Call Home. e) Referral
2) For Assignments - a) Automatic 10% Deduction for late work after Second Offense
