Welcome!
Guidelines & Procedures
Welcome to seventh grade and the Gold Team! My name is Ms. Repke and I am very excited to be your math teacher this year! The following are a few guidelines and procedures that will help this year go smoothly. Please read through them and become familiar with my expectations. I think that communication is important for both students and parents. I have created a Google Classroom for each class period! Be sure to join in to keep up to date with students’ assignments and see what we are doing in class. Students are already placed into classrooms, if you are not, please email me.
Supplies:
Black 3 ring binder (1 inch)
TI 30-XIIS Scientific Calculator (picture for reference)
Pencils
Syllabus & Major Units of Study:
Number Sense - Ratios and Proportions
Operations with Rational Numbers - Probability and Statistics
Expressions and Equations - Geometry
Percents and Applications
Materials: Students are required to come to class prepared everyday with a pencil, calculator and their 3 ring binder. The binder will hold students' math notes and any math assignments. Any student who is absent from class will need to see me when they return to get a copy of the notes and any missed work. Planners also need to be brought to class to copy down homework assignments.
Homework: A responsibility, not an option! Homework will be given on a regular basis. All assigned homework will be collected and given a grade. It is a student's responsibility to get any homework missed if he/she is absent from class for any reason.
Homework is due on its due date. Late homework from a student who was absent on the day it was due, needs to be handed when they return and it will be accepted without a penalty. Any homework missed while absent, must be made up upon return. Any other late homework will receive a 5% penalty per day and only be accepted for 5 days past the due date, after that it is a zero.
Classroom Guidelines:
All students MUST be enrolled in Google Classroom. I have already done this for you please let me know if you have any questions.
Please be sure you are on time with all of your supplies when the bell rings. You can not go to your locker for supplies.
All students MUST be respectful and kind to myself and their classmates. There is a zero tolerance policy for disrespect.
Grades: All assignments will be graded and assigned due dates that students must adhere to. Quarterly averages are based upon 40% tests, 30% quizzes, 20% classwork and 10% homework.
Teaching materials: Copies of class notes and homework assignments will be given to students daily. Students and parents/guardians can access anything given out in class on Google Classroom as well as homework assignments listed on the team website.
Contacting Me: The best way to contact me with any questions or concerns is by email. I check my messages before school and then again before I go home. My email address is lisa.repke@pinebushschools.org
Thank you and once again welcome to seventh grade! Let’s have a great year!
