Community Futures Winnipeg River (CFWR) offers help to people who want to start or expand a business. They keep up to date on trends and resources and can help you identify business, industrial, and other economic development opportunities in Pinawa and the surrounding region. CFWR offers business loans, training, and technical assistance with marketing, business planning, and bookkeeping and accounting. The Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Program (EDP) offers business services to people with disabilities or health conditions interested in starting a business in rural Manitoba. The PARO Centre for Women's Enterprise supports women entrepreneurs across Ontario and Manitoba with micro-financing, peer lending circles, and business growth funding. PARO also supports women through training, group support, networking, and mentorships. They also advise services to entrepreneurs who want to build their capacity and readiness to export. BizPaL is an innovative online service that provides simplified access to information about the permits, licenses, approvals, certifications, registrations, and other requirements you need to establish and run a business. The LGD of Pinawa requires all home-based, transient, and mobile food vendor businesses operating, working, providing, or selling a product or service within the LGD of Pinawa boundaries to purchase a business license as established in the Business License By-Law. A License Application is to be completed and remitted to the LGD of Pinawa Municipal Office, together with a $105 payment.
All continuing businesses should be registered at the Local Government District of Pinawa Municipal office on or before the last business day of January of each year. Business licenses for Outdoor Food Vending Units or Refreshment Vehicles will not be issued until the applicant obtains and files a Provincial Health Inspection certificate with the LGD.
