REAL developments should contribute to the approval of innovative RPAS operations, supported by a Safety Case overwhelmed by high levels of accuracy and integrity provided by EGNOS. In order to assure this target, REAL involves two RPAS private operators currently on discussions with their National Aviation Authorities for defining the applicable requirements for operational approval in two concrete commercial-based scenarios where EGNOS might provide important benefits throughout the on-board navigation and surveillance functions.

Furthermore, all the results obtained from REAL will overcome a useful reference input for regulatory bodies and for avionics manufacturers RPAS oriented:
REAL outcomes will be a valuable input for RPAS regulation development;
REAL will provide the RPAS community with guidelines about the conclusions from national authorities like AESA and TRAFI, at EASA level;
REAL will provide with a complete list of lessons learned, gathering all the blocking points and obstacles find out throughout the project, including the lessons learned from all the discussion process with the Aviation Authorities;
REAL will provide feedback to receiver manufacturers about the requirements to certify the avionics to be integrated in the UAVs; and
REAL could help to release some avionics product lines, like AiRx2 GNSS receiver from Septentrio, defining a new investment market line for manufacturers.
