Founded in 2001, Pildo Labs is an engineering company specialized in delivering top of the edge technology and services within the aeronautics and aerospace sectors. Our team is multicultural, young, creative, energetic, interdisciplinary and with a solid background in technology.
The operation of Pildo Labs is structured in three main areas:
Navigation services, in charge of delivering GNSS services to aeronautical sector;
Software services, in charge of providing software development support to the other areas of the company and also directly to clients that need critical software such as Space sector and Finance clients;
R&D services, responsible for developing new services and products that provide the company with a strategic position.
Pildo Labs main activity is focused within the Aeronautical sector, in which they are recognized as experts in GNSS applied to air navigation within EU market thanks to their leadership since the very beginning in the most strategic projects for the main European bodies in this field.
Sharper Shape Ltd. develops automatic asset inspection solutions utilizing unmanned aerial vehicles. It offers Next Eagle, a solution that inspect geographically distributed infrastructure, such as long networks and pipelines. The company also provides automated inspection and maintenance planning services for infrastructure asset owners; and actionable plans for financial decision-makers to help with budgeting and resource allocation, as well as for engineering in planning and placing work orders for asset maintenance and vegetation management. It serves powerline, oil and gas, railway, precision agriculture, and forest industries.
Sharper Shape Ltd. was founded in 2013 and is based in Helsinki, Finland with a technical and operations center in Grand Forks, North Dakota
EuroUSC Italia is accredited by the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) as recognised consultant organisation for safety and regulatory aspects based on Article 11.12 of the ENAC’s Regulation on RPAS, including their safe access to airspace. In addition EuroUSC Italia is compliant with the independence criteria for qualified entities established in Annex V of Regulation (EU) 216/2008 (the Regulation establishing the European Aviation Safety Agency – EASA). In other words it is not linked to any manufacturer, operator or service provider.
It is active in the field of non-military Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS or “drones”) offering training for remote pilots and related instructors, legal and safety risk assessment and mitigation, support to manufacturers and operators to prepare manuals and to comply with regulations. In particular it has a world leading role for higher education courses on the international civil regulation of drones and civil aviation regulation in general.
In addition EuroUSC Italia has expertise in aviation rule-making, aerodromes, airspace, Air Traffic Management (ATM) and Air Navigation Services(ANS), including certification of aerodrome operators and ANS providers. Customers include Aviation Authorities and industry.
EuroUSC Italia has decades of experience with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), the Institutions of the European Union (EU), the Joint Authorities for Rulemaking on Unmanned Aircraft (JARUS), EASA and EUROCONTROL, mainly through its CEO Prof. Filippo Tomasello, supported by other professionals. EuroUSC Italia is among the first qualified entities in the world applying the Specific Operations Risk Assessment (SORA) developed by JARUS.
The company represents Italy in Subcommittee 16 (UAS) of TC/20 of the International Standard Organisation (ISO) and participates also to RTCA SC 228 and Eurocae WG 105.
The Andalusian Foundation for Aerospace Development (FADA) manages the Center for Advanced Aerospace Technologies (CATEC). This private R&D center is devoted to aerospace technology development.
CATEC has a large experience developing UAS/RPAS technologies. Having participated in 12 European projects in the last 7 years, with more than 12 active projects related to UAS/RPAS in 2015/2016. CATEC has direct collaboration with the major companies of this sector in Spain, state of the art equipment and facilities
FADA foundation manages as well the experimental Flight Center for RPAS: ATLAS.
