On Wednesday 14th of June, EuroUSC Italia participated in the UVS International RPAS Conference 2017 at the Royal Military Academy in Brussels, on behalf of REAL consortium.
This conference is organized within the context of the ICAO RPAS Manual, Riga Declaration, the RPAS content in the EC’s “Aviation Strategy”, EASA’s “Technical Opinion, EC’s DroneRules.EU project, SESAR’s Outlook Study, EASA’s RPAS related Task Forces, various national strategies and the increasing importance of the advisory role that JARUS stands to play. UVSI RPAS Conference gives space to international guests to address issues such as international regulations on RPAS, present and future operational applications, technical and functional requirements of commercial drones, and non-practical experiences and lessons to work in safety and legality.
In this framework, Sara Mangoni and Constantine Senator (EuroUSC Italia), introduced REAL project through a presentation, giving to the audience details about the project objectives, the expected outputs and how EGNOS could benefit the RPAS sector.
The audience appreciated the application of the EGNOS System to enhance the geofencing and it seemed to be very interested in the use of the ADS-B to improve the capability of the UAS. Furthermore, attendees demonstrated a great curiosity for the application of the SORA methodology for the Risk Assessment, due to the fact that the study will allow the validation for both the project and the SORA methodology itself.
