On Friday, March 6, all 10th grade students will be attending Career Exploration Day at Central Lakes College. This event allows students to explore a wide range of careers through hands-on activities, demonstrations, and interactions with local business and industry professionals. Students will be able to gather valuable information and gain insight into potential career paths after high school.

All students participating in Career and College Readiness Activities on January 21st.
7th grade - Students explored careers by region (where the highest demand is for certain jobs), by Career Cluster, and by popular careers that are growing quickly. Students selected their favorite careers. Talk to your student about what their favorites were and where they were located.
8th grade - Students learned about 4 of 16 Career Clusters; including Hospitality and Tourism; Human Services; Information Technology; and Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security. Talk with your student about what they learned about these Clusters. What did they like (or not) about each of these areas?
9th & 10th grade - Students updated their profiles and resumes. Talk to your student about what they added to their resume and why. Talk to them about the importance of tracking experiences to provide evidence of their skills and achievements when headed into a job.
11th grade - Students completed modules about how to hunt for jobs, create a resume, create a cover letter, market themselves, have an online profile, interview, practice interviewing, and negotiat salary. Talk to your student about any tips they picked up from the videos and what wonderings they still have after this unit.
12th grade - Students completed a Would You Rather Assessment. This assessment measures student's preferences, hobbies, and personality traits to map them to potential career clusters and skills sets. As seniors, we want to really hone in and make sure they are self-aware of these preferences and skills. Talk to your student about what career clusters and skills sets were identified through the assessment. Do they feel it's accurate? Does it align with what your student has planned for their steps after high school?

February 23-27 - FFA Week; Thursday Pioneer Time will be a pepfest
Monday, March 2 - Early Release Day
Wednesday, March 4 - 4-7:30 Parent Teacher Conferences (4-6:30 in the PAC, Teacher Classrooms from 6:30-7:30)
Friday, March 6 - 10th Grade Students will go to Central Lakes College in Brainerd to visit the Career Exploration Fair. Bus leaves at 8:10 AM an returns at 11:30 for lunch and PM classes. Students need to leave backpacks at school.
March 12, 13, & 16 - No School
March 18th - Pioneer Pathways - Pioneer Time Schedule
March 20th - Honors Breakfast - Students and their Parents/ Guardians will be invited by invitation to a special breakfast for A Honor Roll Students and their Parents/ Guardians. 8:45 AM in the PAC
