Healy has so many students with incredible skills who are generous with their time, energy, and talents. The Peer Helping Coat Drive and the Minnesota Honor Society (MHS) Blood Drive are to such events that took place over the last month.
Every year, our Peer Helpers; facilitated by their advisor, Mrs. Marilyn Maleska; sponsor a coat drive for local charities. This year we had an overwhelming response, and were able to provide coats to three non-profits, including the Women's Center of Mid Minnesota (Brainerd), Place of Hope, and St. Cloud's Salvation Army. Thank you to all who were able to donate coats for the drive. This winter will be a little warmer for someone in the area because of you and our students.
On Wednesday, December 10th, our MHS students hosted an American Red Cross Blood Drive, despite a 2-hour late start. Students volunteered their time to welcome donors (who ventured the snowy roads), to get donors registered, and to provide snacks through the drive. The drive will result in a scholarship for a graduating MHS senior this coming Spring.
All students participating in Career and College Readiness Activities on December 17th.
