About Pie & Joy

Baked with Joy in my Home Kitchen!

I'm a home baker based in Crystal, MN. During the summer, you can find me at the Golden Valley Farmers Market (Market in the Valley) on most Sundays. During the school year, I'm a junior high English teacher, and I love to come home and bake pies to order!

Follow me on Facebook and Instagram @PieAndJoy to hear about upcoming events and markets!

In November 2021, Stephanie March gave Pie and Joy a shout out in her Thanksgiving 2021: Roll Call under "Pies & Such." I'm so honored to be mentioned alongside some of my pie mentors, including Vikings & Goddesses, The Buttered Tin, and Honey & Rye!

Some Background . . .

My Roots

I grew up in the kitchens of women who loved their families and loved to cook. Grandma Mae’s home was filled with the smells of chicken and dumplings, homemade bread, and seared venison. Grandma Doris taught me to make lefse and krumkake. Both were masters of pie, rolling out flaky crusts over fruity fillings spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg.

My Family

Now my kitchen is filled with those sights and smells. I love to cook, and I love my people. There’s just something about creating a comforting and warm dish for my boys, for my friends, for my family, that brings me joy.

While I enjoy making classic recipes, I love trying new combinations of flavors!

My Pies

Since I have a sweet tooth, I often make desserts at home and bring leftovers to work. My pies would get the best reviews, and I started baking for my husband’s real estate clients.

I’m excited to bring my baking joy to your table, to share some comfort, warmth, and goodness from my kitchen to your home!
