I am a proud UCF Knight. I graduated from the University of Central Florida when it was a small school of mostly commuting students. We had one set of dorms and a lake to swim in. My school has swelled to over 60,000 students with a Medical School, Resort Swimming Pools, Multiple Restaurants and its own downtown shopping area. Its football program began the year I started and has now received national recognition for their talent and strength.
I was born, raised, and educated in Florida. I began my teaching career in Volusia County, Florida, teaching 3rd grade. I spent the following 22 years teaching science to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. In November 2017, I fulfilled a life long dream of living in the mountains when I moved to Jasper, Georgia. I came to Georgia to continue my teaching career at Pickens County Middle School.
I have one son and three bonus children. All are grown and married. My six grandchildren range in age from 12-23. My fur babies include an eight pound Chihuahua and two abandoned kittens that I inherited this Spring.
My hobbies are many and never ending. I even have a She Shed for all my treasures. I cut and polish stones, make silver jewelry, paint, beaded jewelry, Kumihimo, Viking Knit, stained glass, and so much more. I love to hike, camp, and go white water rafting. I am always ready for a trip through an antique or junk store.
