I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Piedmont College in Middle Grades Education where I played both basketball and softball. I received a Master’s Degree from Lesley University in Technology in Education. I am certified in middle grades science, math, and social studies and special education. I have endorsements in both reading and ESOL. I am also trained to be an LEA representative for special education.
Before starting in Pickens County in February 2015, I taught in the Forsyth County School System since 2001. I started my career with Forsyth as an EBD self-contained paraprofessional for three years. Then I became a special education teacher at Forsyth Central High School where I taught and co-taught biology and earth science for four years until I transferred to Forsyth County’s alternative school, Gateway Academy, where I was the special education department chair/coordinator for five years. While at Gateway, I co-taught grades 9-12 science and social studies and taught 6-8 science and social studies.
A little about me:
My family and friends are very important to me. I am limited in my hobbies due to a plethora medical ups and downs but I love to read, travel, classic cars/trucks and spending time with family and friends. I have a dog, a cat, and a kitten.
