"The 20-21 school year has been quite unique! The virtual learning space has been a learning experience for us all. I have enjoyed sharpening my skills as an educator to help meet the learning needs of our students. The best part about PCVA? Our dedicated families, of course! Meeting with my students daily, conferencing with parents as needed, and forming relationships with the families, despite our distance, has been a phenomenal experience for me!"

"PCVA has been a great asset to many students and families. Some students and families had doctor appointments in Charleston, SC and others had business trips their families had to attend. Since they were a part of the PCVA, they never missed a lesson. They were able to take school with them through their chrome book and complete the lessons either ahead of schedule or on time. The resources and flexibility for families and students is a great feature for all. I really enjoy the virtual environment and my students have enjoyed it too."

I spend my day actually doing what I love to do and that is to teach...It has also allowed me to get to know the students better so I can meet their unique individual needs. I rely on the support of the parents or learning guides. This has allowed me to bond with each family. "I have truly enjoyed being a part of PCVA this year. I feel that I know my group of students on a whole different level this year. As we are invited into our students' homes multiple times each day through our live lessons, we become a part of their family and our time together is full of joyful learning. I am always encouraged when I can meet in small groups or individually with students who normally will not speak out in class and I am able to get to know them a little better as a learner and a person. The ability to meet students where they are and encourage them to become more confident in their learning is a true blessing. PCVA is truly moving our students into the future of education across our state!"

"I had no idea what virtual was going to look like. I am so thankful I said yes to the unknown of PCVA this year. I feel like I have a better relationship with my students and their families. It has also been nice to not have the typical "interruptions" during groups (students, announcements, etc). My students came further in their reading levels virtually than I could have imagined. This was not just because of them attending groups, but they did the work and practice with their families. Students have been able to have one-on-one tutoring when needed. They have also been able to be themselves. I feel like some participate more through a screen than they would in a classroom. I am truly blessed to be a part of the family of PCVA. It has been more rewarding for the students, families and teachers than I ever expected."
