Communication represents the essential ability to articulate thoughts and ideas effectively to diverse audiences through a comprehensive array of methods, including oral, written, visual, or other nonverbal forms and contexts in order to achieve a desired outcome. The ability to convey meaning in diverse social and multicultural contexts also requires students to thoughtfully consider their intended audience’s knowledge, values, attitudes, and intentions. Students who are proficient in communication can craft clear and compelling messages for a range of purposes using a variety of media and technologies. 

Personal and social responsibility entails students cultivating an understanding of making conscientious and sustainable choices in their local and global communities. This requires the capacity to assess one's own values, beliefs, and priorities while simultaneously acknowledging and considering those of others to assess the potential consequences of actions.  To achieve this, students will employ critical thinking, inquiry, and actively engage with various perspectives and resources. Through social involvement, coupled with reflection and evaluation, they will enhance their ability to make responsible and sustainable decisions, both in their personal lives and within the broader scope of their community and beyond.
