What is the deadline for submitting assessments?  

The last day of each Fall and Spring semester. However, we suggest you begin transitioning to a Mid-Semester submission if possible.

How many assessments should I submit?  

You should assess all of your courses every semester. 

Can I submit an assessment after finalizing my grades in SIS?  

Yes, you can still complete your assessment after submitting final grades in the Student Infomation System (SIS). Please contact AskPCAssessment for guidance on this process.

Why do I have to load all of the Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILOs) one at a time into my Canvas course? 

Due to current Canvas integration limitations, bulk importing of ILOs and their associated rubrics is not possible. While we understand it would be more efficient to download all five ILOs simultaneously, the system requires adding them individually. We hope to improve this functionality in future updates.

Why don't all of the descriptions from the ILO rubrics appear in Canvas? 

The complete ILO rubrics contain detailed descriptions that exceed space limits, requiring us to use abbreviated versions in Canvas. For full rubric descriptions, please refer to the complete documentation available on this website.

Will my students be able to see the ILO rubric in Cavas? 

Yes,  students will be able to view the ILO rubric in Canvas when it is attached to their assignment. We recommend providing additional context about these Institutional Learning Outcomes in your syllabus, explaining their purpose and importance to your student's educational experience. This helps students understand how course activities connect to broader institutional goals and how they'll be evaluated on these outcomes. For your convenience, we have provided an Optional ILO Syllabus Statement that you can adapt. 

What if I used an ILO from our previous set of Institutional Learning Outcomes? 

If you previously implemented an older version of our Institutional Learning Outcomes, you can use our ILO Crosswalk document to transition to the current framework. This chart allows you to select a previously implemented ILO and identify the corresponding current ILO that should be used for your assessment. The Crosswalk ensures continuity in your assessment process while aligning with our updated institutional goals. 

How can I verify that my completed assessment submission is in the system? 

After submitting your assessment, you can confirm it was added to your gradebook by using our How to View your ILO Submission in Canvas Gradebook.
