It is important for young people to have safe third spaces access to safe third spaces because some young people may not have places where they can express themselves where they won't be judged or told not to. Teens having a safe space can help them achieve and do things they might not have done with their life without that third space and without meeting new people
On the other hand some kids may abuse their safe space and do something to make others feel unsafe or put people in danger. There has been a recent uprising of unprovoked assaults from teens leaving other people seriously injured or dead. These random attacks cause authorities to ban places where other teens find it fun to socialize and hang out. Making third spaces as safe as possible should be the main goal when creating these third spaces because if some people don't have places where they feel safe then it could lead them to do something drastic and lead to them hurting others or themselves.
"Making third spaces as safe as possible should be the main goal when creating these third spaces."
To stop this we can make these third spaces so nice that the kids won't want to be kicked out therefore they will stay safe. By making a third space somewhere that teens nowadays have not seen and never experienced it will make teens more inclined to want to come back and not cause harm to others. We could also make places where only teens can stay with “adult mediators” so they can learn to interact with other teens while staying safe. If a child were to cause trouble we could make specific bans on certain people, not all of them.
This is how we can provide third space for teens, while keeping them in a safe and healthy environment. Providing a safe third space for those who might not have it can make all the difference in someone's life.
