Fourth through sixth graders show their scientific know-how in four categories: Life, Earth, Physical, and Consumer Sciences. Seventh through twelfth graders exhibit in 15 categories, including Biochemistry, Botany, Engineering, Environmental Science, and Zoology. Often individual school science fairs are conducted prior to the Carver Fair.

What: Have you always been interested in having your students do a science fair project, but are overwhelmed with the process? Community College of Philadelphia offers teachers a Professional Development series on how to make the science fair a manageable project for students, while offering supplies and resources for students to complete a project, culminating in a Science fair showcase in May 2024. Free In-Class Science Fair Workshops for teachers and students (MS & HS)

Delaware Valley Science Fairs offers FREE workshops for teachers and students in the classroom! There are several topics to choose from: Getting Started with STEM, Asking Testable Questions, Writing Procedures, Analyzing Data and Reaching Conclusions and Communicating Research to Others.

Mentorship Available for Students

Students in 6-12 grades who aim to compete in Delaware Valley Science Fair and need technical expertise or access to certain equipment may request a mentor. The requirements and application process are detailed at the website: https://www.dvsf.org/mentorship-program
