The Rubric provides guidance in 3 evaluative areas, Problem Solving/ Reasoning and Proof, Communication and Representation. Each area has leveled descriptors to support analyzing individual student work and establishing whole class and individual goals.

When using performance tasks for a grade, students should be scored based on each individual evaluative category. For example: A student should receive 3 scores for a performance task: Problem Solving/ Reasoning and Proof, Communication and Representation, with a total possible cumulative score of a 4 in each category.
