Diploma Program

About the Program

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) is a demanding, internationally recognized program that meets the needs of highly motivated students and leads to a qualification recognized by leading international universities. Typically, diploma holders are ready to debate real-world issues from international perspectives and become leaders in the local and global communities. Juniors and Seniors (11th and 12th grade) participate in the program as either individual Course Candidates or full Diploma Candidates.

The IBDP is globally recognized for its high academic standards. Students pursuing the IB Diploma will take six academic courses at the IB level, the Theory of Knowledge course, participate in Creativity, Action, and Service, and write an Extended Essay based on original research and critical inquiry.

Course Candidates are free to choose to take up to three IB courses (four with Coordinator approval).

Students successfully completing the program earn the prestigious and internationally recognized IB Diploma, in addition to the Northeast High School Diploma .
