Digital Literacy & Technology Curriculum 

Grade 1

Teaching Digital Literacy in Elementary & Middle School is of paramount importance in today's digital age. Digital Literacy empower students to become informed, responsible, and confident digital citizens capable of thriving in an increasingly digital world.

COMPUTING & SOCIETY

Computing and Society is the study and understanding of the impact of technology on individuals, communities, and society as a whole. Students develop a critical and informed perspective on the role of technology in shaping the world around them. This knowledge equips them to make responsible decisions, engage in ethical practices, and actively participate in creating a digital world that aligns with societal values and priorities.

Digital tools and skills are essential to access information. They encompass the tools, software, and competencies required to navigate, create, and communicate in the digital world. By accessing and acquiring these tools and skills, students become proficient in using technology effectively and responsibly. Students are equipped to adapt to new digital tools and platforms, engage in lifelong learning, and leverage technology to enhance productivity, communication, and creativity in various aspects of their scholastic, personal and professional lives.

Computer Science and Coding Fundamentals are key components to providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand the principles and practices of computing. MEDIA & INFORMATION LITERACY

Media and Information literacy focuses on equipping students with the skills to critically evaluate, analyze, use information and resources from the media. Exposing students to media and information literacy, empowers them to navigate the vast amount of information available online, critically analyze media messages, and make informed decisions based on reliable sources. These skills foster active and responsible participation in the digital world, promoting a more informed and democratic society.
