It's ok to say....NO!
Want a simple way to teach yourself or child how to say “no” when you or they find themselves in uncomfortable situations? Place yourselves in front of a mirror. Saying “no” begins with body language. Teach yourself or child to send a strong message by calmly saying “no” while they maintain eye contact without smiling. “No,” after all, is a complete sentence. This is something that you should practice and have your child practice. Saying NO is an important skill to be comfortable using, especially in those uncomfortable situations.

New House T-Shirts!
Hey PHCSE Families,
T-Shirts orders are in and we are excited to represent our houses. Starting in January all students and staff will be able to wear their new house shirts on Fridays. REP YOUR HOUSE! Those who were not able to order previously will have another chance to order at the beginning of the second quarter.

Anti-Bullying
How we are helping.
We are consistently talking about what we should do if we see, hear or encounter "bully like" behavior in the school building. We work hard on developing lessons to teach the scholars what to do. This month we are talking about hot spots, being an upstander, building positive relationships and developing empathy. Ask your child what they are working on!

Guest Coach
Our CEO Dr. Wayne Jones served as the guest coach for the Oakland Catholic Girls Basketball Team in their game against McKeesport on February 9th. Sophomore/PHCSE alumni, London Creach along with her team became the WPIAL 5A-3 section champions winning 60-54. Good luck to the OC Eagles as they face South Fayette in the WPIAL championship Saturday, March 4th at the University of Pittsburgh Peterson Center.
