The way we organize, manage and assume the risk of a business or enterprise
The Advancing Youth Initiative (AYI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship (PHCSE) and Dominus High School to help students discover pathways for lifelong success. As the philanthropic arm of PHCSE and Dominus, AYI operates exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, and seeks to provide free and affordable opportunities to families.
The AYI Adult Innovation Series is in full swing. Partners such as: Beam Collaborative, Dollar Bank, Life Venture by Choice Homes and S&T Bank have provided invaluable knowledge and insight. Attendees accessed strengths and growth needs for mergers & acquisition readiness as well as obtaining homeowner resources for home repair grants and credit repair programs.
PHCSE grandparent, Mary Hester, and owner of Life Venture Buy Choice Homes and Eric Harris (S&T Bank) shared pertinent information about creating a trust, homeownership and equity, credit scores, and new available resources.
PHCSE’s Threat Assessment Team—comprised of Dr. Williams, Dr. Leeper, Nurse Wallace, Ms. Green, Ms. Burton, Mr. Clinkscales, and Mr. Scott—continues to take a proactive approach to school safety and student well-being.
The team has ensured that all students in grades 6 through 8 have received or will receive Safe2Say Something training. This program educates students on how to recognize and report concerns related to bullying, self-harm, or potential harm to others through a confidential reporting system.
In addition, PHCSE staff have completed comprehensive training focused on identifying warning signs, responding appropriately to concerning behaviors, and supporting students in need. Together, these efforts reinforce our commitment to maintaining a safe, supportive, and responsive learning environment for all students.
