The way we become problem solvers, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners
Updates and Insights on Learning and Growth at PHCSE
At Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship, we’re excited about the journey ahead. This year, our teachers are coming together each month in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), led by our Instructional Leaders — Mrs. Tritt, Mrs. Collins, Mrs. Wood, Ms. Rayburg, Ms. Thompson, Mr. Rowland, Mrs. Kroll, and Ms. Schraven, These sessions are lively, collaborative spaces where teachers share ideas, solve challenges together, and explore innovative ways to engage and support every student.
Through these PLCs, our teachers are already thinking creatively about how to make lessons more engaging, support diverse learners, and create classrooms where every student feels seen, heard, respected, and empowered. They are also examining culturally responsive and equitable grading practices, as well as effective classroom management and community-norming strategies, ensuring that instruction meets the needs of every learner and reflects the rich diversity of our school community.
As the year unfolds, we anticipate exciting outcomes for our students:
Lessons that spark curiosity and excitement, keeping students engaged and eager to learn.
Stronger learning and growth, as teachers refine instruction with purpose and creativity.
Classrooms where every student belongs, with clear expectations and supportive routines.
Higher achievement and meaningful outcomes, because teachers are aligned and focused on helping each learner succeed.
We are thrilled for what’s to come. Our PLCs are laying the groundwork for a school year full of growth, discovery, and achievement. With teachers learning and growing together, our students are poised to reach new heights—and as a community of educators, families, and students, we can’t wait to soar to success and celebrate the achievements and possibilities that this year will bring!
Best,

PHCSE celebrated its National Junior Honor Society Induction Ceremony, led by Ms. Kailey Tritt, our Literacy Coach and the NJHS Advisor. During this meaningful ceremony, Ms. Tritt inducted 25 new scholars into the National Junior Honor Society for the 2025-26 school year. These students have demonstrated—and will continue to uphold—the five core principles of NJHS: scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. Their induction reflects a strong commitment to academic excellence and responsible leadership within our school community.
