The Parent Choice Committee would like to recognize the following parents for demonstrating the attributes of CARE (character, academics, relationships and entrepreneurship). Laura Baldwin, parent of Emma Baldwin. Ms. Baldwin is very involved in her daughter's academics. She reviews homework and tests on a regular basis, completes any activities that are suggested for practice, and questions techniques that she can use with Emma at home. Furthermore, she volunteers to assist with class parties and sends in extra supplies and snacks periodically.

Title I Night

Thursday, February 28, was our Title I Reading Night and Art Show. Students' art was showcased throughout the school for parents to see. The PTA operated the School Spirit store, and Book Fair for families. Families of PHCSE were able to enjoy a variety of activities such as bingo and face painting for their children.

According to the U.S. Department of Education, the purpose of Title 1 funding, is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high quality education and reach, at minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.
