This year, Math PRIDE is focusing on developing students' math fluency. Our first goal each day will be to work on improving proficiency in skills introduced in 6th grade and our secondary focus will be on further developing skills and homework help, if time allows, from Math Class. PRIDE will not primarily focus on homework completion for math class, as such, it will be the responsibility of each student to work on any homework at home or potentially during homework help. PRIDE will not be used for homework completion or homework support for other classes. I will use this page to post links to relevant resources associated with work being completed in PRIDE.
Students will earn a class grade that will be based on attitude, effort, and preparedness. There will not be homework assigned for this class or grades in the traditional sense. Students can earn a daily grade of up to 10 points for coming to class prepared, being on task, staying in class, not being disruptive to others' learning, and completing in-class tasks. In the case of an absence, students are marked as exempt; will not affect their overall grade. Progress will be monitored through regular assessments and whenever possible, links and updates related to our learning will be available on my website and on the PRIDE Google Classroom.
Each student is expected to come to class prepared and ready to learn. Materials needed each day include:
Pencil and eraser
Chromebook
Math notebook
Panther planner
**Students will be given advanced notice if they need anything else for class.**
