PGVIM ASEAN Musical Identities course is an interdisciplinary subject to study music of Southeast Asia region: the musical concept, role of musical instruments and musicians, the relationship of music and society, cultural transmission, to the policy of economics, society and culture that influences music in ASEAN. Since 2019, Silpathorn Artist Anant Narkkong and Suppabhorn Suwanpakdee designed and combined live/online performance activities to conduct; students explore any interesting songs by themselves, then do the arrangement, rehearsals and performance to show SEA sounds through selected musical pieces together with narration.

Faced with the Covid-19 pandemic, the ASEAN Musical Identity class could not run on-site as usual. We organised the fully online course for this academic year. However, content and activity will be still full of ASEAN Identity' essences.  

In this year showcase, students covered any piece/song of ASEAN to learn more about how the beauty of that music; challenged them to understand people in this region and the empathy that we can share as human beings.
