IMPORTANT UPDATE

AP exams are now being offered during three testing widows. I have chosen testing window 2 for our class, giving us a test date of Tuesday, May 19. If you are unable to test on that date, you may request testing window 3 from Mrs. Light, in which case you would test on Tuesday, Jun 1. The tests will be taken at home on a computer, though it will still be a full length exam with Multiple Choice questions. You can find more information from the College Board here.

Welcome all! Below you will find our schedule for our current unit. As this is an AP course, I have set a pace for us that will allow us to cover all the material you will need in order to earn a 4 or 5 on the AP exam. Please understand that our group, in particular, will be impacted if the quarter system is in place for the second semester, as we will not have a full quarter to cover material from semester two before your AP exam. If this class moves too fast, please consider taking my Introduction to Computer Science class next year where we can move at a more leisurely pace.

With all that in mind, let us jump in. For each unit, there are due dates listed to the left of each assignment. These dates are not strict deadlines, and you should not stay up until 1:00 am to finish an assignment. The dates are meant as a guide so you will know if you start to fall behind. Within each unit there is a final deadline; this due date is not a suggestion . Assignments turned in after this date will be subjected to a late penalty as described in the Course Expectations page. Keep up - it is very difficult to catch up once you have fallen behind.
