Law & Public Safety
Why should you take
Law & Public Safety?
Law and Public Safety (LPS) is for students who are looking to explore fields related to law enforcement, public safety, and military careers. Students who thrive in this environment are curious, committed to personal and professional excellence, and excited to be challenged mentally and physically. In addition to working within your classes, LPS students will collaborate with local professionals both on and off campus and will also visit local public safety-related facilities.
Law and Public Safety is a two-year instructional pathway that fosters students’ proficiency in skills and principles needed in the fields of law and public safety by providing authentic classroom and workplace experience in preparation for college and career.
In Law & Public Safety, students will find that:
there are many available careers in the law enforcement, public safety, corrections, and security fields;
these careers have diverse career paths that combine educational and physical requirements with high standards for training; and
these careers are directly impacted by local, state, and federal laws.
Careers in LPS include interacting with people, helping solve problems, speaking in front of people, and serving the public.
