Our adventure over the next couple of weeks will be Gardening! Join us! What do you already know about planting a garden? What do you wonder about plants? As you go on the adventure, seek the answers to your questions and become a master gardener.

We will be taking six different adventures together. Each journey will last for two weeks. After each adventure, the Title 1 crew will post a special passport stamp to represent our journey together. You can print out the stamp and glue it into the visa section of your passport or you can create your own drawing to represent our journey together. There will be one stamp for each of the six spots on your visa.

Assembly directions: Print the sheet, fold it horizontally between the top and bottom pictures. Then, fold it in half to create the passport booklet.

I was lucky enough to spot this unique Swallowtail in the tropical island of Phuket (near Thailand). Believe it or not, there are 500 different species of Swallowtail butterflies in the world.
Did you know that most butterflies have a favorite "host" plant?
Yes! and the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, Virginian's official state insect, loves honeysuckle and lilac.
Do you want to grow a butterfly garden? It can be as simple as planting milkweed.

When I was a little girl, my parents had a huge garden. They always planted a row of pumpkins, and in the middle of October, my sister and I got to go out to the garden and pick the pumpkin we wanted to make into a jack-o-lantern for Halloween. It was such a great experience, as we actually got to pull it off the vine. We watched the pumpkins as they grew and thought about which one we might choose.
Pumpkin Trivia:
Pumpkins originated in Central America. Pumpkins are really squash. A pumpkin is a fruit. Pumpkins are 90% water.
