Title I Parents,
We are so excited to share the love of reading with your children and to show them that books truly take you places!
Welcome back. We hope you enjoyed your second adventure into the world of gardening. For the next couple of weeks we will be exploring the world of animals. There will be books to listen to, tips, tricks, and a lot of other information about different types of animals in their natural habitats.
Each of the Title 1 teachers will present articles, books, and other resources describing some of the most interesting animals in the world. So sit back, grab a snack, and take a look at some of these fascinating animals.
Look for more exciting topics to explore later this spring. Go click on the Reading Adventures page and let your child's adventure begin!
Our Featured author this week is Aaron Blabey! Check out his story and books. Talk with your child regarding what you notice about his illustrations and style of writing. When an idea comes to Aaron, he uses anything handy to write on, challenge your child to use a different material to write on and see what he/she creates.
Additionally, we have added a few more websites to our list of resources. As this site continues to develop we will be placing those websites into groups by topic and grade level.
The new K-5 lesson plans for the division have been posted on our lessons page. You can also find the previous lessons by hovering over the lessons tab and clicking on the drop down box.

Aaron Blabey
Aaron Blabey
Aaron Blabey (born Jan. 1, 1974) is an Australian author of children's books and artist, who until the mid-2000s was also an actor.
He is the creator of three best-selling children's series; Pig the Pug- a picture book series about a mean-spirited little dog, The Bad Guys- A New York Times #1 bestselling graphic novel series for junior readers about a gang of scary-looking animals trying to change their bad reputations and Thelma the Unicorn- a second picture book series about a plain little pony who pretends to be a unicorn.
As of January 2020, Blabey has around 20 million books in print, and his books have spent over 60 weeks on New York Times Bestseller List. The Bad Guys first reached #1 on the list on July 3, 2019.
