What do I do?

Freshmen through Juniors

Note: This page does not cover community service. Please go to this link for information regarding how to be approved and how to submit your hours once you have them.

Step One: Create a Website

The first thing you need to do in the high school portfolio process is to create a website. Your website will be home to all of the work you do and will be the thing that is graded whenever we check to see your progress on this project.

Use this link for directions on how to make your own website and how to set it so people in EGUSD can see it.

Step Two: Submit your Website (Due in November)

Now that you've created a website you are going to submit it. You'll submit it even if it doesn't have anything on it yet! The reason we do this is so that we can be sure to have the correct website link at the end of the year when we grade what you've been working on. Once you have the link to your website, use this link in order to submit it so that we have it on file.

If you have already submitted a website, you do not have to do it again in later years unless you make a new website and have a new link to send in. Refilling out the above form will replace your last website with your latest link.

Step Three: Complete your Reflection Pages
(Due Late March/Early April via form covered in Step Six)

Because you have a website and we now know the link to it, it's time to start filling it up! For the first three years of your high school experience, we will ask that you do two reflections each year on a new graduate profile skill. There are six Graduate Profile skills in total, so the idea is that by the end of your junior year you will have reflected on all of them. In order to learn how to fill out the reflection pages, please visit this link for more information.

Please note that all of your reflections will be written directly onto your website.

Step Four: Complete your Summative Letter

At the end of the year you will be asked to complete a Summative Letter. This piece of writing is a letter to our principal in which you reflect on the year you've had at Pleasant Grove High School. For more specific information, please visit this link which goes over precisely what to do.

Like your reflection pages, you will be creating your Summative Letter directly within your website.

Step Five: Publish your Website

Now that you have completed your two reflection pages and your summative letter, you should publish your website so that anyone with the link can see what you've made. If you are using Google Sites, do this by clicking the purple "Publish" button at the top right of the page.

Step Six: Submit Your Reflection Pages
(Due Late March/Early April)

With everything now done, the only thing left is to let our judges know which two graduate profile skills you worked on this year. Please use this link in order to submit the two Graduate Profiles you reflected on in Step Three.
