Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Tau Delta Zeta Chapter, and The Distinguished Pearls Foundation are excited to present two scholarship opportunities to the members of your school’s senior class. Please share this information with your female and male students in the Class of 2026.
The Power of the Written Word Essay Scholarship is available to eligible female high school seniors, and the Lynette Thomas Scholarship is available to eligible male high school seniors. For applications to be considered, applicants must reside in Prince George’s County, MD.
Scholarship applications will be available no later than Monday, October 13, 2024, on the following websites:

The Howard P. Rawlings Guaranteed Access (GA) Grant is a grant that provides postsecondary financial assistance to eligible in-state students currently enrolled as high school seniors who will complete a college preparatory program or a student who has obtained a General Educational Development Diploma (GED) and is under the age of 26. The GA Grant equals 100 percent of the student’s financial need, and a student may receive an award for up to $19,100.

PGCPS PROGRAMS & COURSES OF STUDY
For descriptions of courses and programs offered in PGCPS, click on the following link:
Schedule changes will only be granted for the following reasons:
A graduating senior lacking graduation requirements;
Took and passed a class during summer school/evening/day school;
Have not met course prerequisites;
Authentic, documented health reason;
Adjustment for special/alternative programming (i.e., Work study, Technical/Career Academy, or Concurrent/Dual Enrollment);
Did not select during Spring registration as a primary or alternate course (Registration forms will be verified). No preference changes or teacher changes allowed;
Improper level placement in course (i.e., Honors, SPED, AP: need teacher approval).
The schedule change request form can be found here. Please wait to hear from your counselor after submitting the form. The process can take up to a week or so in some cases. Class changes are subject to availability. Submitting a request for a change does not guarantee a change will be made. No changes will be made after the 20th day of school.
