Purpose: Portal that brings all digital tools and textbooks into a secure portal for access by teachers and students.
Clever is updating the look and feel of the teacher portal, starting in March 2024 teachers will have the option to toggle on the Enhanced Portal. Over the summer, Clever will enable the new look for everyone.
The functionality of the portal is not changing. The update is meant to streamline the way you already use the portal. A comparison of the classic and enhanced portals is shown below.
Access to Clever and to specific resources is based on a student's or teacher's schedule in SYNERGY.
Once a teacher is assigned as staff or additional staff to a section that has at least one student assigned to it, they will sync from Synergy to Clever overnight. Similarly, students will sync to Clever, overnight, after being scheduled in Synergy.
If a resource is associated with courses on the teacher or student's schedule, it should be available in Clever.
Is it YOUR ACCOUNT or is it CLEVER?
Are you new issues accessing an app in Clever? Visit the Clever Status Dashboard to find out if there are any issues impacting all users or if a specific app is having any issues. bit.ly/pgcpsclever-status
Schools and/or offices are not permitted to send lists of student names/emails/IDs, etc. to vendors. For student safety and privacy, if an application requires a username/password and/or student rosters, it must be set up via Clever (some district purchases will also be considered for Canvas).
If your school or office has purchased an app that is already connected to PGCPS's Clever account, see below for details on how to request data sharing for your school/office.
If the app is not already connected to PGCPS's Clever account, BEFORE PURCHASING licenses, review the information on the Software page and submit the REQUEST for DIGITAL TOOL REVIEW FORM .
NOTE: A vendor being listed in Oracle as an "approved vendor" does not mean that one or all of their products are also approved.
If you're not sure, ask the vendor to confirm that we are sharing data via a Clever SSO or Rostering app.
Before completing the request form, you will need:
The name of app (as it is listed in Clever (confirm with vendor)
Vendor contact information
A PDF or JPG of the Purchase Order (to confirm the licensing details) or contract
Sharing details - How will this resource be shared?
by district
by school
by grade level
by course (have the course numbers ready)
by student (this will require additional setup and coordination with the school scheduler)
A link to screenshot or website that shows the app icon, as it appears in CLEVER. (The vendor should be able to provide you with this .)
Once your purchase is complete, submit the appropriate request form for your location.
If you have multiple titles (even if they are from the same vendor), complete the form for EACH REQUEST.
(e.g., Imagine Learning has Imagine Math, Imagine Math Facts, Imagine Reading, and Imagine Language and Literacy. Each requires a separate form)
Allow up to 5 business days for sharing rules to be updated.
CLVR Course Flags are used to create rosters that assign specific students (instead of an entire class or grade) to an app. These should only be used in very specific cases (e.g, FirstInMath/Renzulli Learning for TAG or i-Ready and Lexia for Special Education).
When a school purchases licenses for a specific set of students, IT will provide the school with the CLVR course ID and section range to use. Do not schedule students until you have been contacted.
This Google Sheets template can used by program coordinators to organize section rosters for school schedulers
