Purpose: Canva is an online platform for creating graphic designs, presentations, websites, video projects, and more. Canva for Education is a designed specifically for teachers and students with education-specific templates including posters, lesson plans, presentations, flyers, whiteboards and more.
License: PGCPS teachers, staff and students will have access to Canva for Education. This license includes all of Canva Educator premium features free of charge.*
*based on features that the district has enabled/disabled
Access: All users will be able to use Clever or SSO to sign into Canva. More details are below.
Canva for Education is Available through Clever
Sign into Clever
Select the Canva for Education icon
For teachers, Clever will roster your existing students so you can create Canva assignments. If your students can't submit Canva assignments to you, they may need to switch Canva teams.
Please Note: Students and Staff are on Teams associated with their location. If you have changed locations (school or office), you may need to switch "Teams" in Canva. Guidance for switching "Teams" and Schools is listed here: http://bit.ly/4nwChWO
Go to Canva.com
Select Log In
Select Continue with Google
Enter your full PGCPS email address
Click Next
Enter your PGCPS username and password then click Login
If prompted, follow the on-screen prompts for 2-Step Verification
Click Continue
Clever users, notice that you are joined to school team.
Non-Clever (most of Central Office) users will be added to Staff & Admin group.
Your pre-existing content is accessible by switching between teams; you can copy designs to your new school team by following these steps. This is also the case if you have switched to a different school or office.
Please read the Canva teacher’s guide, even if you’ve used Canva before – there are a few differences between our new organization-wide version of Canva and versions you may have used in the past.
