Parkdale High School will begin administering the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) on December 2, 2025. Students who still need to complete one or more state-required assessments in Algebra I, English 10, Life Science MISA (Biology), or Government have been scheduled to test during this administration.
Families, students, faculty and staff are urged to review the testing schedule carefully. It is essential that scholars report to their assigned test locations as scheduled and on time. Once testing begins, late entry will not be permitted.
Because of the high number of students who must test, opportunities for make-ups will be extremely limited. Students are strongly encouraged to mark their calendars, plan ahead, and make every effort to be present on their assigned day. This is not an assessment that can be missed.
The stakes are high: missing these exams puts a student’s graduation eligibility at risk. The Maryland State Department of Education requires successful completion of the appropriate assessments before a student can be cleared for graduation. Students who do not participate in this testing window may delay or jeopardize their ability to earn a diploma.
Parkdale urges all scholars and families to prioritize attendance and take this responsibility seriously.
Students from Parkdale High School competed against Sherwood and Lake Braddock High Schools on It’s Academic on November 8, 2025. Please join us in congratulating our scholars and their coach, Sean Dummitt, for their hard work and dedication. Preparing for academic competitions requires significant time, focus, and practice, and our team represented Parkdale with pride and determination.
Congratulations to our scholars and Coach Dummitt!
